Mazda Cleans Out IIHS Safety Awards
On February 24, 2021, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) announced the winners for its most distinguished safety award: the 2021 TOP SAFETY PICK+. All Mazda vehicles that were tested received this award for the second year in a row. Mazda IIHS award winners include the 2021 Mazda3 Sedan, the 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback, the 2021 Mazda6, the 2021 Mazda CX-3, the 2021 Mazda CX-30 (manufactured after September 2020), the 2021 Mazda CX-5, and the 2021 Mazda CX-9. To earn the IIHS 2021 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, models must receive excellent ratings in various crashworthiness evaluations. These Mazda IIHS award winners also received good ratings in driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, side, roof strength, head restraint tests, as well as good or acceptable headlight ratings.
